The objective of the present study was to determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematodes in calves in the transition from the dry to the rainy season. Fecal samples were collected from dual-purpose Swiss×Gyr×Holstein breed calves. During July in dry season conditions and rainy season in August and September, to count Eggs Per Gram of Feces (HPGH) in calves. Two groups were formed: 1) stable group (GE) and 2) grazing group (GP). Flotation, McMaster, Larval Culture and Baermann Funnel techniques were carried out. The Kruskal-Wallis test was carried out, using the dependent variable HPGH, the Month with three levels: 1) July (drought season); 2) August and 3) September, and the Group with two levels: 1) Stalled Group GE and 2) Grazing Group (GP). The parasites found were nematodes Trichostrongylus spp. with a prevalence of 100% in calves, the Month factor was significant (P<0.01). The rainy season influenced the increase in the HPGH count of the calves.
