Editorial Procedure
Once we receive a document, the internal procedure is as follows:
First. The Editorial Committee and the Journal Editor conduct a preliminary review to determine if it meets the guidelines for authors. If the work does not meet these guidelines, it will not be sent to the peer review process, and the author(s) will be notified by email.
Second. If the work meets the guidelines for authors, it will proceed to the peer review process, where national and international specialists will evaluate the article according to criteria established by the journal regarding relevance, originality, and scientific and academic significance. They will then issue a decision on whether the proposed article merits publication and, if so, under what conditions. It should be noted that we work with a two-reviewer system. In the event of a combination of "Not Accepted," "Accepted with Recommendations," or "Accepted," the submission will be sent to a third reviewer. The process is as follows: first, it is sent to reviewer 1; second, to the authors; third, to reviewer 2; fourth, to the authors; and, if necessary, to a third reviewer. If two reviews result in a “Not Accepted” rating, the article will be rejected. In any case, the author(s) will be notified of the reviewers' decision, as well as their recommendations and observations, so they can adjust the article to the criteria already established in the Guidelines for Authors.
Third. For accepted articles and those accepted with recommendations, the authors will be notified and must send the revised version via email, indicating what they considered and confirming that they have implemented all the recommendations made by the reviewers and/or the editorial committee. In addition, the authors will send three original photographs and a short video of the research (the criteria will be sent once the article is accepted).
Fourth. When the Editor receives the revised version from the author, the manuscript will be reviewed and adjusted as deemed necessary to comply with the journal's editorial standards and policies. However, the Editor will send the authors the final galley proof for review before sending it to print.
